十九世纪七十年代的美国新墨西哥洲大牧场主TC杰佛兹鳏居多年，膝下一子一女均已长大成人。女儿万斯一直希望能继承父业管理整个牧场。万斯爱上了杰佛兹的仇人之子达罗。但当杰佛兹让达罗在金钱和爱情之间作出选择时，达罗选择了前者接受杰佛兹的五万美金。这让万斯深感绝望。万斯和土著胡安感情甚笃，但杰佛兹为了获得银行贷款决定赶走胡安一家。杰佛兹从华盛顿结识的贵妇博奈特开始插手牧场事物。气恼不已的万斯刺伤了博奈特。而杰佛兹也与胡安一家发生枪战冲突并吊死了胡安。这让万斯彻底和父亲决裂。万斯决定依靠自己的力量并联手达罗一起取得牧场的所有权。她能完成复仇计划并收获属于自己的爱情吗？
